Special Consideration |
|
|
Mature Applicants (For applicants who apply for full-time CE(ECE) and QKT programmes only)
We work in tandem with the Government in promoting a flexible approach to the development of multiple forms of intelligence, life-long and life-wide learning. We therefore welcome applications from out-of-school candidates aged 25 or above with specific talents or achievements and a wealth of experience. Aspiring teachers with a serious commitment to teaching are especially welcome. At the discretion of the Institute, if you do not possess the minimum programme entrance requirements but are at least 25 years of age on or before 31 August 2005 and can demonstrate to the Institute your suitability and capability to pursue the programmes successfully, you may be exempted from the entrance requirements as a mature student. You, however, need not explicitly request such consideration, as the mature applicant provisions will be automatically invoked by the Institute where appropriate. But you will not be given preferential treatment over normal applications. You will be dealt with on your merits, on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants with Post-secondary Qualifications
The full-time CE(ECE) and QKT programmes are primarily designed for secondary school leavers. If you do not possess the minimum programme entrance requirements but have acquired post-secondary qualifications such as a Higher Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree awarded by a UGC-funded institution in Hong Kong or any other qualifications that are recognized by the Institute, you may be exempted from the programme entrance requirements and be considered for admission.
Applicants with Disabilities
If you have disabilities and aspire to join the teaching profession, you are welcome to apply. Your application will be assessed in the same manner as other applications, namely on the basis of academic and professional qualifications, work experience, non-academic achievements, and performance in interviews and/or subject tests (if applicable). You are requested to provide information about the nature or degree of your disabilities so that the necessary supportive facilities may be made available.
