  Application and Admission 入學申請
   

This Application Guide is to be used by local and non-local applicants seeking admission to our early childhood education programmes in the 2005 entry.
此入學申請指南適用於本地及非本地申請人報讀本校二零零五年度幼兒教育課程。

Local applicants are those who have a right of abode in Hong Kong, or have continuously resided in Hong Kong for three years on or before 1 September 2005. Otherwise, you will be regarded as a non-local applicant. Indication of residence status does not form a criterion for selection.
本地申請人是指申請人擁有居港權，或在二零零五年九月一日或以前於香港居住連續三年。否則，均屬非本地申請人類別。居港狀況將不會影響甄選結果。

We welcome applications from non-local applicants. Non-local applicants must obtain a student visa in order to study in Hong Kong. At present, we have non-local students from the Mainland China, Canada, India, Ghana, etc.
本校歡迎非本地申請人報讀。非本地申請人於開學前必須取得學生簽證。現時，本校的非本地學生分別來自中國、加拿大、印度、迦納等。

You are required to pay an application fee of HK$150 which is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the programme has been cancelled by the Institute.
你須繳交港幣一百五十元之申請費。除因本校取消課程外，已繳之申請費概不退還或轉讓。

On-line Application 網上申請
Applicants who are applying for PGDE(ECE) programme can pay the application fee using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) through the Institute's On-line Application System.
學位教師教育文憑(幼兒教育)課程的申請人可透過本校的網上申請系統，以信用卡(Visa或萬事達卡)繳交申請費。

By mail or by hand 郵寄或親身遞交
You can pay the application fee by direct deposit or ATM Transfer crediting the amount to EITHER ONE of the following accounts:

Please mark your name on the original customer copy of the Deposit Slip or the ATM Advice and stick it onto the application form. Please keep a photocopy of it as your proof of payment. Applications will only be processed when the application fee is paid.
請在存款單(客戶副本)或自動櫃員機交易紀錄上寫上姓名，並將申請費收據貼於申請表上之指定位置。請保留收據的副本，作為已繳交申請費的證明。沒有繳交申請費之入學申請，概不受理。

If you are not residing in Hong Kong, please send us a Hong Kong dollar bank draft (HK$150) drawn on a bank in Hong Kong and made payable to “The Hong Kong Institute of Education”. Please do not send in personal cheques or cash.

Please refer to p.11-13 of this Guide for the appropriate programme title(s) and programme code(s) as well as the entrance requirements of individual programmes prior to making your choices.

You are not allowed to make changes to your choice of programme(s) once you submit the application.

  • Please provide information of the secondary school which you last attended or are currently attending.
    請填寫你最後或現正就讀的中學。
  • Please provide in chronological order information of the post-secondary qualifications that you have obtained or to be obtained, and any post-secondary programmes that you are currently enrolled at this or another institution. Please submit photocopies of your academic qualifications (e.g. academic transcripts) with your application.
    請按時間順序填寫你已獲頒或將獲頒授的專上學歷，及在本校或其他院校現正修讀的專上課程。請將有關學歷的證明文件副本(如成績單)連同申請表一併遞交。
  • If you will attend HKCEE and/or HKALE in 2005, it is NOT necessary for you to submit the related documents. Arrangements have been made with the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) to obtain the examination results. You are, however, required to sign the authorization statement in the "Declaration" section of the application form, agreeing to the release of such information by the HKEAA to the Institute.

  • If you have obtained HKCEE and/or HKALE results in 2004 or before, and/or HKHLE / GCE / GCSE results in any years, you are required to complete this section. Please refer to Table 1 and Table 2 on pages 14-15 of this Guide for the appropriate public examination and subject codes. You are required to submit a copy of the relevant documents showing the examination results. We consider best grades in all public examination attempts. You should provide us with the best result in public examination for repeated attempts.

  • We are planning to hold classes for programmes E3B009 and E2C008 in the Tai Po Campus and/or the Town Centre. Please indicate your choice of class venue in order of priority ("1" being the First Choice, "2" being the Second Choice). This aims to collect your opinion about the choices of class venue. Class venue will be determined based on the opinion gathered.
    本校擬於大埔校園及/或市區分校開辦E3B009及E2C008課程。請列明上課地點選擇的優先次序(「1」代表第一選擇，「2」代表第二選擇)。此部分的資料目的是使本校能了解申請人對選擇上課地點的意見。最終的上課地點將取決於收集所得的意見。

  • Please provide in chronological order information of the post-secondary qualifications that you have obtained or to be obtained, and any post-secondary programmes that you are currently enrolled at this or another institution. You are required to submit photocopies of your academic qualifications (e.g. academic transcripts) with your application. Applicants who have completed programmes offered by the Institute since 1995 NEED NOT submit any copies of academic transcript(s) and certificate(s) obtained at the Institute. You are, however, required to authorize the Institute to extract and use your records of studies at the Institute for the purpose to process your application.
    請按時間順序填寫你已獲頒或將獲頒授的專上學歷，及在本校或其他院校現正修讀的專上課程。請將有關學歷的證明文件副本(如成績單)連同申請表一併遞交。於一九九五年或以後修畢本校任何課程之申請人，毋須遞交由本校頒發之成績單及證書副本，惟須授權本校使用申請人在本校的學業紀錄，處理其入學申請。
  • Please enter the public examinations and years attempted, subjects taken and grades obtained. We consider best grades in all public examination attempts. You should provide us with the best result in public examination for repeated attempts. Please refer to Table 1 and Table 2 on pages 14-15 of this Guide for the appropriate public examination and subject codes. You are required to submit a copy of the relevant documents showing the examination results.

      You MUST fill in this part and submit copies of all teaching permits.

  • This part should be completed by your current employer. Priority for admission will be given to applicants who are recommended by their employers.
    此推薦書須由你的現任僱主填寫。獲推薦的申請人將獲優先考慮。
  • The completed recommendation form should be submitted in a sealed envelope, together with the application form to the Institute.
    填妥之推薦書須加封連同申請表一併遞交回校。
         
        Documents to be Submitted with your Application Form 下列文件須與申請表一併遞交
       
    (1) An application fee receipt; and
    申請費收據；及
    (2) A copy of ALL academic qualifications citied in your application.
    申請表上所填寫的學歷或有關資料之副本各一份。
       

    You should not send any original documents to the Institute in any circumstances as the Institute will not be responsible for any documents mislaid. However, original documents of the qualifications stated in the application must be presented for verification at registration. Failing to do so shall lead to disqualification of the application and any offer made will be rescinded.
    在任何情況下，請勿將任何文件正本郵寄至本校。郵遞途中如有遺失，本校概不負責。惟申請人於註冊入學時，必須提交在申請表所填寫的學歷證明文件正本，以供審核。否則其申請及錄取資格將被撤銷。

    If you apply on-line (applicable to PGDE (ECE) Programme), you are advised to upload the academic documents direct on-line at www.ied.edu.hk/acadprog/online. Please mark your name, HKID/passport number and programme code at the top right hand corner of each page. Failing to do so may lead to some delay in processing. You can also send the documents to us by fax within three working days after submission of your web application.
    若透過網上申請(適用於學位教師教育文憑(幼兒教育)課程)，你可將學歷證明文件上載至 www.ied.edu.hk/acadprog/online。請在每頁的右上角寫上姓名、香港身份證/護照號碼及課程編號。若你未能遞交上述文件，申請手續將受阻延。你亦可於遞交申請表後三個工作天內透過傳真遞交上述證明文件。

    All documents submitted in support of applications will not be returned and will be destroyed if the applications are unsuccessful.

      Points to Note after Submitting the Application Form 遞交「入學申請表」後須注意事項
         
        Application Acknowledgement 入學申請紀錄回條
       
    We will send to you by post an acknowledgement within 20 working days after the application deadline. This acknowledgement slip contains your application data and an 8-digit application number. Please quote this application number for all subsequent communication with the Institute. You should contact the Institute immediately if you do not receive the acknowledgement slip 20 working days after the application deadline.
    本校將於截止申請日期後二十個工作天內寄發「入學申請紀錄回條」。該回條除詳列你的申請資料外，並載有一個八位數字的申請編號。日後與本校聯絡時，均須引述該申請編號。如你在截止申請日期後二十個工作天內仍未收到該回條，請即與本校聯絡。
         
        Changes in Personal Particulars 更改個人資料
       

    You are required to notify the Admissions and Registrations Section about the changes immediately in writing (by mail, by fax or by e-mail) or by filling in the "Notification of Changes in Personal Particulars" printed on the overleaf of the acknowledgement slip. You may be required to provide documentary proof if necessary.

        Cancellation of Programme 取消課程
       

    The Institute reserves the right to cancel any programme(s) in which case all fees paid will be refunded.

        Interview Shortlist and Application Result Notification 面試名單及錄取結果通知
       
    (1)
    All shortlisted applicants for the full-time programmes are required to attend admission interviews/tests. For part-time/mixed mode programmes, not all applicants will be interviewed. An applicant who has not been invited to an interview shall not assume that he/she is not being considered for admission.
    所有通過初步遴選的全日制課程申請人均須參加入學面試/測試。部份時間制/混合制課程的申請人或須參加面試。如該等申請人未獲邀面試，並不等於本校不考慮其申請。
       
    (2) The selection process is normally completed by the end of August. Applicants who are offered admission will receive individual notifications by mail. Applicants who are not offered admission by that date may assume their applications have been unsuccessful. In case that there are vacancies, admitted applicants will be notified individually. No individual notifications will be sent to unsuccessful and wait-list applicants.
    所有招生一般於八月底完成，獲錄取的申請人將獲書面個別通知。若申請人屆時未獲錄取，可作落選論。如課程仍有剩餘學額，獲錄取的申請人將獲個別通知。本校不會書面個別通知不獲錄取及後備名單的申請人。

    Students enrolled in any full-time award bearing programmes (lasting for one year or longer) of the Institute should not simultaneously register for study for another qualification at this Institute or for a post-secondary qualification at another institution, except with prior approval of the Institute. Students in breach of this regulation may be subject to discontinuation of studies at this Institute. In case of doubt, please seek the advice from the Registry.
    除預先獲得批准者，所有修讀本校全日制(修業期為一年或以上)課程的學員，不能同時修讀本校或其他專上學院開辦之課程，以取得另一資格。違例者可被飭令退學。如有疑問，可向教務處諮詢意見。

    To be eligible for admission, applicants should have:
    (1)
    obtained Grade E or above in at least SIX DIFFERENT subjects, including Mathematics, Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) at HKCEE level in not more than two sittings, with at least four subjects in one sitting; and
    (2)
    scored at least 11 points for the best six subjects in the HKCEE(s) mentioned in item 1 above; OR
    (3)
    satisfactorily completed S7.
     
    Note 1:
    An achievement of Grade C in English Language (Syllabus A) is regarded as equivalent to Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) for the purpose of this requirement.
    Note 2:
    Grades A to E are given the numerical values of 5 to 1 respectively for the purpose of calculating points.

    (2)
    be employed as a teacher in an early childhood education setting.
    In addition to the above minimum requirements for admission, applicants may also be required to attend an interview.

    To be eligible for admission, applicants should normally have:
    (1)
    completed the Certificate in Kindergarten Education Programme (CE(KG)) or Certificate in Early Childhood Education Programme (CE(ECE)) or equivalent with a Grade Point Average of 2.0 or above;
    (2)
    attained proficiency in Chinese Language comparable with Chinese II within the CE(KG) and
    CE(ECE); and
    (3) attained proficiency in English Language comparable with English I within the CE(KG) and CE(ECE).
       
    Applicants who cannot produce evidence of having attained the specified proficiency in Chinese and English will be required to pass a language entry test.
    Eligible applicants may be required to attend an interview.
       
    申請人一般須：
    (1)
    修畢幼稚園教育證書課程或幼兒教育證書課程，或具備同等學歷，並取得平均積點 2.0分或以上；
    (2) 達致與幼稚園教育證書課程或幼兒教育證書課程內「中文二」同等的中文水平；及
