Description:
Against the backdrop of rapid urbanization, many residents feel unfamiliar and alienated from their communities. Population mobility makes it difficult for residents to establish stable community relationships, weakening their sense of belonging. For young people, the digital age has changed their mode of interaction, with the rich functionality of the Internet attracting them and replacing communication in the physical community, resulting in a weakened understanding of and concern for the community. This detachment not only affects the connection between individuals and the community but also undermines the cohesion of the community, which may eventually become a public problem and hinder the sustainable development of society. To alleviate these problems, we have designed an intervention program focusing on community learning and promotion and collaborated with secondary school students in Sham Shui Po to study the characteristics of the Sham Shui Po community and enhance their understanding of its culture through a variety of learning modes, such as data collection, field trips, interviews, and community board games design. It is hoped that the innovative approach will stimulate students' understanding of the community and help promote community characteristics and build practical skills. The effectiveness of the project was analyzed through observation and quantitative questionnaire surveys. The results showed that all students were able to increase their knowledge of Sham Shui Po, acquire practical skills, and effectively promote the characteristics of the community after completing the community table tour, thus realizing the sustainability of the project. In addition, this paper will explore the relationship between the program and sociology, as well as its social significance and impact on personal growth, capacity development, and future careers
