Description:
Objectives: This study was to investigate the predictors of violence tolerance for social change, and examining elevated arousal would mediate the relationship between aversive event and violence tolerance. Methods: 207 participants were recruited through WhatsApp and EDUHK online platform(ePortal and email system) and asked to complete a 65-item questionnaire measuring their political identification, basic need satisfaction, psychological pain, empathy, perceived injustice, and violence tolerance. Bivariate Correlation and Mediating effect analysis conducted to examine the association between the predictor variables and violence tolerance. Result: The result yielded that elevated arousal could significantly mediate the relationship between aversive events and violence tolerance
